The Sports Think Tank XXIII

We jump right into "I Can't Breathe" and the NBA players wearing the t-shirt.  Commissioner Silver is allowing the players to wear it, but what will happen if a white player wears a t-shirt with a conservative slogan?  Will this be permitted?  We have to again thank The Hornet (www.HornetRestaurant.com) at 1st and Broadway for hosting The Sports Think Tank.

The Royal Family is next on the agenda.  Was Lebron James out of line touching the princess?  Our Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) is an Anglo.  His Mom is right off the boat.  I thought we built a wall for that?  Mason talks about the do's and dont's of the Royal Crown.  Frankly, I'd much prefer a 1.75 of Crown Royal.

Can a high school head coach who has had great success, transfer that success to D-I?  Jerry Faust failed at Notre Dame.  Can UNLV make it work?

Finally, well...just listen to the final segment.  We don't disappoint.

The Sports Think Tank XXI

Thanks to our host, The Hornet at 1st and S. Broadway in Denver.  North Carolina has institutional corruption in their academic and athletic department.  We discuss North Carolina getting the "Death Penalty."  And in all honesty, can North Carolina be the only school with these issues?  Probably not.  We get into corruption in the NCAA and we debate whether payers will get paid and if the NCAA will eventually be the minor leagues.

A recent trend in the NBA and even MLB is players becoming head coaches without any experience coaching.  Why is this happening?  Very interesting discussinon.  Entitlement is everywhere.  Is it in coaching too?

We appreciate your feedback.  Keep the questions and comments coming.  We really enjoy hearing from you.  Thanks for listening

The Sports Think Tank Episode XVI

Our best podcast yet.  This was very passionate, informative, and a hell of a lot of fun.

Dr. Heath (@DrTravisHeath) begins with a bit of a rant regarding his Metro St. students.  He gets into entitlement.

We finally get into some sports after Dr. Heath unburdens himself.  No Andrew Mason (@MaseDenver) tonight as he was doing his duty as Dad and caring for his daughter Charlotte.  She's 22 months and as adorable as they come.

Michael Sam and his now famous kiss witt his boyfriend on TV is our leadoff topic.  We you offended by Sam and his boyfriend celebrating with a kiss?  Do you have a problem with homosexuality?  We discuss homosexuality and homophobia in the United States.  Is a persons sexualiy really any of your business?  What someone does in the privacy of their home is their business and not yours.

In addition to Michael Sam, we discuss the numerous negative tweets regarding Sam including Ole Miss student and former Rebel hoops star, Marshall Henderson.  You'll just have to listen.

Finally, Donald Sterling and his interview with Anderson Cooper.  Again, just listen.

Thanks for listening and thanks for helping spread the word.  Keep telling your friends, family, and co-workers.  Please follow The Sports Think Tank on twitter @ThinkTankSport.  You can also follow each of us on twitter @RenKnowItAll @DrTravisHeath @MaseDenver

The Sports Think Tank Episode XIV

It's all about The Silver Hammer who dropped, The Silver Hammer.  Adam Silver minced no words today in delivering a lifetime ban to LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling.  We get into great depth about Sterling and the decision by Silver.  Gloves are off and we leave no stone unturned.  Thanks for listening and thanks for spreading the word.

The Sports Think Tank Episode XIII

Lucky 13 or Lucky XIII.  A fun night at Gary Lee's Motor Club on S. Broadway.  Big thanks to Gary for hosting us again.  Smoked meat loaf...yes, I said it...they smoke their meat loaf...that is all.  We had a blast this evening talking about unwritten rules of sports and is baseball trying to take the fun out of the game.  Is it ok for Carlos Gomez to do what he did?  We also talk about the narcissisistic culture that has seeped into modern society.  It's all about me...ME ME ME ME ME ME!

We then talk about Andrew Mason's (@MaseDenver) new book about the Denver Broncos that is due out in the Fall.  This will be an amazing book and a MUST read for any football fan.  Mason poured his heart and soul into the book and you will want a copy.  We then get into Matt Cooke and his impending suspension.  He's a goon...plain and simple.

We really appreciate your support of the podcast.  Keep telling your friends and co-workers about The Sports Think Tank.  We continue to grow and it's because of loyal listeners like you.  Please follow The Sports Think Tank on twitter @ThinkTankSport.  You can also follow us individually @MaseDenver @DrTravisHeath @RenKnowItAll.  We love your feedback...keep it coming.

The Sports Think Tank Episode XII

It's just the Good Doctor and I on this episode of The Sports Think Tank.  Last week Dr. Heath described the children's birthday party he attended last week and this week he gets into his daughters 2nd birthday party.  The Heath's don't do PC.  No gluten free, lots of dairy and sugar.  It's a kids birthday party for god's sake.  This is some entertaining stuff.

We finally get into sports and DeSean Jackson.  Can people be fired for who their friends are and who they hang out with?  Gangs?  bad people?  We discuss.  Then we talk Ron Artest and his rumors of running for president.  We have a lot of fun tonight.

Thanks so much for listening to The Sports Think Tank.  We are growing week by week and we appreciate you spreading the word.  @ThinkTankSport @DrTravisHeath @MaseDenver @RenKnowItAll

The Sports Think Tank Episode X

Number 10 is here.  A perfect 10?  Probably not, but a fun night at The Hornet.  This is the 10th edition of The Sports Think Tank.  Thanks again to The Hornet on S. Broadway for hosting our podcast again tonight.  No dong pics here, but the quote of the night was @MaseDenver comparing Greg Oden to a fire hose.  Lots of hoops talk tonight.  We start with the NBA and the New York Knicks hiring Phil Jackson as General Manager.  Jackson made no bones about wanting the Knicks to run the Triangle offense.  The question will be if Melo wants to play for Jackson and if Jackson wants Melo.  Interesting discussion on what the Knicks might do...and will Jim Dolan butt out and let Jackson run the team.

In part II we get into drug addiction with the DWI arrest of Colts owner Jim Irsay.  Alcohol and prescription drugs.  Will the Ginger Hammer drop the hammer on Irsay with a fine and suspension?  Will he be repremanded at all?  Irsay is going to rehab and you have to hope that it works for him.  Time will tell, but we get into the relationship of owner and dependents/employees and addiciton.

Finally, back to hoops...college hoops, but we don't talk about the NCAA Tournament.  We talk Auburn hiring Bruce Peal.  Has Pearl changed his ways?  Really?  Think Bruce Pearl is on the straight and narrow now?  College athletics is about making money and winner...that it.  We get down and dirty with the Tigers hiring Pearl...who actually can't recruit for another 3 months.  He's still suspended by the NCAA for lying to them and having others lie in the Tennessee cover up.  Oh college basketball, you are so dirty and how I love you.

Thanks for listening The Sports Think Tank and thanks for telling your friends, family, and co-workers about us.  We really appreciate that as we continue to grow the podcast.  Now for one of the great bloody marys at The Hornet.
