The Sports Think Tank Episode X

Number 10 is here.  A perfect 10?  Probably not, but a fun night at The Hornet.  This is the 10th edition of The Sports Think Tank.  Thanks again to The Hornet on S. Broadway for hosting our podcast again tonight.  No dong pics here, but the quote of the night was @MaseDenver comparing Greg Oden to a fire hose.  Lots of hoops talk tonight.  We start with the NBA and the New York Knicks hiring Phil Jackson as General Manager.  Jackson made no bones about wanting the Knicks to run the Triangle offense.  The question will be if Melo wants to play for Jackson and if Jackson wants Melo.  Interesting discussion on what the Knicks might do...and will Jim Dolan butt out and let Jackson run the team.

In part II we get into drug addiction with the DWI arrest of Colts owner Jim Irsay.  Alcohol and prescription drugs.  Will the Ginger Hammer drop the hammer on Irsay with a fine and suspension?  Will he be repremanded at all?  Irsay is going to rehab and you have to hope that it works for him.  Time will tell, but we get into the relationship of owner and dependents/employees and addiciton.

Finally, back to hoops...college hoops, but we don't talk about the NCAA Tournament.  We talk Auburn hiring Bruce Peal.  Has Pearl changed his ways?  Really?  Think Bruce Pearl is on the straight and narrow now?  College athletics is about making money and winner...that it.  We get down and dirty with the Tigers hiring Pearl...who actually can't recruit for another 3 months.  He's still suspended by the NCAA for lying to them and having others lie in the Tennessee cover up.  Oh college basketball, you are so dirty and how I love you.

Thanks for listening The Sports Think Tank and thanks for telling your friends, family, and co-workers about us.  We really appreciate that as we continue to grow the podcast.  Now for one of the great bloody marys at The Hornet.

The Sports Think Tank Episode IX

A little non-sports discussion to start the show tonight.  George Zimmerman was signing autographs at a gun show.  Yeah, that George Zimmerman.  Are you ok with that?  I guess it's not against the law.  But seriously, George Zimmerman was signing autographs.  We touch on that.  Then we get into politics, sports, and twitter.  Minnesota State Representative...the Honorable...ok, not really honorable, but Pat Garofalo sent some tweets out about the NBA that were not very nice.  He's a politician...a jack ass.  We wrap things up with NFL free agent talk.  Who is going where?  What team is making the big moves?

Thanks for listening to The Sports Think Tank.  We really appreciate you spreading the word and helping the podcast grow.  Keep telling your friends, family, and co-workers about The Sports Think Tank.  We'd love to hear from you. @DrTravisHeath @MaseDenver @RenKnowItAll @ThinkTankSport

The Sports Think Tank Episode VII

We waste little time getting into the NFL contemplating penalizing players for using the "N-Word" in a game.  We'll be honest, this episode might offend some of you.  But we decided not to hold back and speak the truth.  How will the NFL enforce this?  Will all ethnic/homophobic slurs be taken into account too?  What about black players using the "N-Word" as a term of endearment?  Dr. Travis Heath has his opinion about this.  We'd love to hear from you.

In the second half we discuss metrics in sports.  Why do some people want to tear down great players wih metrics.  There has to be an eye test, right?  Or maybe not?

Thanks for listening to The Sports Think Tank and please tell a friend, family member, or a co-worker.

Sports Think Tank, Episode IV

Our latest edition of The Sports Think Tank...there is a pattern here. Big thank you to Park House (Colfax/Madison) for hosting us. www.ParkHouseDenver.com. Tonight we dive into the Super Bowl and the absolute domination by the Seahawks. Why is the NFL so hard to predict? Did anyone really see a blowout like that? We learned that viewing porn dipped in a certain city and increased in another city. We let you know which cities. And finally we get away from football and talk NBA and the end of David Stern as the commish. We talk pros and cons of David Stern and how long until there are NBA teams in Europe and Asia.

Let us know what you think. Don't be shy. We have thick skin @ThinkTankSport, @MaseDenver, @DrTravisHeath, @RenKnowItAll

Thanks for listening and tell a friend.
